Friends of Children Foundation used to celebrate this day with the local primary school children on Australia day to promote Togetherness, Harmony and Respect for each other. From this year on the request of few School Principals, we have moved to 2nd week in February when there are no School Holidays or Long weekend.

As previous years, School Children will take part in ‘Essay writing and Colouring & Painting Competition’ on a topic ‘How to keep this lucky country LUCKY’. On this day best entries will be honored and rewarded.

We will also talk about the environment, waste and recycling issues and solutions like how to reduce waste, recycle more, send less waste for landfill and increase the number of trees planted.

Event is supported by: Officers from Vic Police, Pinewood Community Bendigo Bank, Oakleigh Brass, Victorian Multicultural Commission and the City of Monash.

Various kind of food, along with music and entertainment, will be enough to bring everyone together and keep them busy.
